Eighty Mile Beach
It was very hot when we got to Eighty Mile but at least the caravan park had trees to make the sites shadier. Was very blustery in the mornings and at night. We could drive on the beach here…reminiscent of Cable Beach but without the crowds! Sooo many shells. It was hard to stop collecting them-we restricted ourselves to a bucket full!
Ocean water was so warm but unfortunately this was not a beach you could swim at-mostly for the sharks. The boys had a lovely time learning how to cast a rod off the beach but too many waves and not the right time to fish. The seagulls got to feast on our bait instead!
The boys enjoyed watching the wallabies that filled the park at dusk to snack on the park grasses. One cheeky wallaby that Elliott named Wallo broke into our binbag to eat some old roadhouse chips!
