Coral Bay

We had a great beachy break in Coral Bay! The town was filled to the brim with school holidays kids.

The boys enjoyed getting their walkie talkies out and running around the camp. They also played ‘ding dong ditch’ sneakily tapping on peoples tents and caravans (not late!)

On the first afternoon we had sunset on the beach and a walk up a giant sand dune to the lookout.

We snorkelled on the main beach Bill’s bay and the boys all watched the grand final on the iPad. The wind was marine wind warning level but the beach was the busiest we’ve been on and everyone continued to swim and play on the sand like it was a fine day!

Another movie night on the hill but so cold and wind swept!

We went on a dune buggy tour for a couple of hours one morning. Jas and Elliott couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces from the minute they got in. It was so much fun speeding through the sand dunes-through the town and along the sandy tracks to Five Fingers Bay and Turtle Cliff. We spotted a turtle from the cliffs having a swim in the waves and bobbing up for air.

We ended up going back these same tracks in the prado later-was a bit dicey with the soft sand but very bouncy with lots of giggles from the boys as we were four wheel driving. Elliott and Jason had a snorkel at Five fingers bay while Tyler and I stayed on the sand.

On the last day we walked around the bay to a lagoon called the shark nursery and stood in the water watching reef sharks learning how to fish before heading out on the reef. Elliott also got to kayak around the bay.
